Note: Our database of numbers is located within a secure and invisible thread within Direct-Connect.net. Sprint Nextel Direct Connect PRIVATE GROUP is dedicated exclusively to Sprint Nextel Direct Connect services. Our main purpose will be to host a secure and protected database of registered users' DC numbers to facilitate formulation of DC calls and groups. But to gain access you must APPLY HERE by following the below procedure. We have no intention to 'manage' or monitor any particular group. Whoever creates a group has the responsibility to maintain it. Any ramifications from the formulation and / or participation of these groups are strictly the group administrators/participants concern.

PROCEDURES:

#1. PM Jerenin with your Direct Connect number
Check your PM's here periodically in case we are unable to get you on PTT
#2. Include (as much of the following as you'd like).
* Age
* Member REAL first name/nickname (on Direct-Connect.net)
* Sprint Nextel Direct Connect number/phone number.
* Location (State)
* Days and times generally available
* Occupation
* Special tech skills
* Hobbies and interests
* Group creation interest or 1 to 1 only

You will receive a Direct Connect call from one of the moderators (during the time(s) you specified) to confirm your number and information. Once approved, you will be given access to our PRIVATE Sprint Nextel DC User Group.

Please allow 48 hours to be contacted.

It should be noted that we have the capability to determine the identity of ALL users via their PHONE number. We will NOT tolerate any abuse / harassment from any user and will pursue punishment to the fullest extent of the law. ALL Private users MUST be 18 years of age or older.

i have a ic902 phone and have never used the direct connect function.
i would like to try it. i bought 5 of these phones at an auction. i installed a 2 gig memory card and it works fine.
is this the place to post my direct connect number?

This is an open forum, and not the place to post your private info for the world to see.

We have a Private Forum where you can post your direct-connect number, and view the private information of other members who have chosen to share their info. Only pre-screened and approved members can view and post in that private area.

In order to gain access to that area, please send a private message (via the forum's private messaging system) to me or BigDogg795. Include your DC number and times that you are available.) One of us will contact you to get you cleared for approval.

I just sent al904 a pm with my info. This is a cool deal. I am new to Direct Connect and the walkie-talkie is somewhat of a novelty to me but I don't know enough people that have a DC or iDEN phone.

Only those of us who signed up and verified the chirp from al904 were approved are allowed to see the forum. So, no. No public viewing of your info.

Even with the private viewing the number would still out there. I don't want it out at all. They can verify my DC but that the one and only time somebody new will have my number. I was in one of these clubs before and met a few wierdos and since my DC is my phone number I'm protective of it

The PTT Private Forums (AT&T, Nextel & VZW) are not viewable by anyone other than those members who are pre-approved by me or one of the other mods. Those forums are not "searchable" by the search engines, and even if someone were to get the URLs, they could not view the posts.

However, it is completely understandable that some members may not wish to join the private areas and post their contact info in those forums. For those members we have the "Introduce Yourself" area that is open to the public. All members are free to post some general info about themselves in that area. Those members can include a note saying to contact them via private message for DC and other phone numbers.

I like to believe that by offering both types of contact areas we have solutions that appeal to the most people. I am always open to suggestions, though. Please let me know if you have any other ideas.
